Our Company
'Veridis' (vare-ih-dee) is a combination of the Latin root for true and green. Our name represents the high value we attribute to the natural environment + landscape and our consideration of sustainability as we create timeless, quality designs. Although we work with all styles and materials, the core of our company respects and is drawn to natural textiles, earthen elements, organic forms and diverse textures while incorporating greenery whenever feasible.

We continue to be inspired by a favorite company’s philosophy in creating “as seamless a transition between the inside and outside as possible” (Guz Architects, Singapore). We recognize the constraints of the particular project's climate, but we always consider the specific environment with which we are dealing. This passion also has promoted our newest service offering: Landscape design.

We are a full-service interior design firm based in Detroit, Michigan specializing in residential projects.

Hannah Friedman
Owner & Lead Designer
Graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder, for architecture and environmental design. My studies included a year in Barcelona and Copenhagen to broaden my design + cultural background, working in two vastly different cities reknowned for their unique architecture styles.
After graduation, I completed two architectural internships in Cleveland, during which I gravitated more toward the interiors departments and discovered my immense appreciation for adaptive re-use of historic buildings. This mindset tends to correlate with and drive our approach and manifests itself in our desire to re-purpose valued items in our clients' homes. Things don’t always need to be brand new to feel fresh! There are endless opportunities to give quality or significant pieces a new life.
In 2014 I returned to Michigan and took the full dive into interior design. For almost 5 years I worked with a local designer starting as his assistant, creating all CAD drawings, handling project management, administrative, and ultimately focusing mainly on design. During my free time I began to take on my own projects and established Studio Veridis at the end of 2017
Over the years I have worked at several greenhouses + garden shops nurturing my passion for all things green. If it were up to me, my interiors projects would have an abundant focus on plants, which offer not only an ideal aesthetic balance with the constructed environment, but also, when incorporated correctly, add significant vibrancy and enhance the occupants' health.
